What: War Memorial for New Zealand soldiers. Bronze standards angled to represent the posture of warriors performing a haka, the prows of maori boats, or the angles of a cricket bats. Different lettering features on each stelae. Six of the standards stand away from the main group in a southern cross formation. The formal arrangement is intended to resemble a group of soldiers in procession, or Celtic standing stones. The cross section of each standard is a cross painted white at the top.
