Belonging: The Sign Machine at Ditchling Museum of Art + Craft

To accompany the recent exhibition on Sister Mary Corita Kent – educator, artist, printmaker at the forefront of the POP art movement – Ditchling Museum of Art + Craft invited Morag Myerscough and Luke Morgan to curate their Wunderkammer in response to the theme of ‘Belonging’.

Alongside this is featured an installation: “The Sign Machine”.  This was originally displayed in London as part of London Design Week 2016 and updated to fit in with the theme of Belonging.

This is a playful installation which invites the viewer to become a participant by sitting in one of the three rocking chairs and using the handles to turn the signs in order to reflect your own sense of belonging out of the available words and symbols attached to the machine.
